Despite the diligent efforts by Mysuru City Traffic Police to instil discipline among motorists, our roads continue to be plagued with unruly behaviour, by compulsive traffic rules violators.

It is observed that many two-wheeler and four-wheeler drivers are equipping their vehicles with high-power “halogen” headlights. These headlights, often of dubious quality and Chinese origin, emit an intense white light that can cause momentary blindness to oncoming motorists, posing a serious safety hazard.

It is concerning that during night hours, the focus of Traffic Police seems to be primarily on apprehending drunken drivers and helmet-less riders, while other visible traffic rule violations, such as the use of these blinding headlights, go unchecked.

It is imperative that the Traffic Police expand their enforcement efforts to include penalties for all visible traffic rule violations. I urge for immediate action to address this issue before it leads to tragic consequences on our roads.
