Mysore/Mysuru: House burglars, who broke into the house of a retired lecturer on Vani Vilas Road, have decamped with gold ornaments and cash from the house.

The burglary took place at the house of M.S. Padma, a retired lecturer of Mysore University. She had been to Bengaluru on June 7 and on June 9, her brother called her over the phone and informed her that the door of her house was found broken following which she rushed to Mysuru. On inspecting the house, Padma found a total of 222 grams gold jewellery including two pairs of gold bangles weighing 60 grams, 30 grams gold with black beads chain, 30 grams gold necklace, 50 grams double gold chain, 29 grams gold chain and mangalya, 11 grams earrings, maati and four finger rings weighing 12 grams and Rs. 18,000 cash missing. KR Police, who have registered a case, are investigating.
