Mysore/Mysuru: The Division of Biochemistry, School of Life Sciences, Mysuru, JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research (JSS AHER), Mysuru, has organised an International Conference on ‘Neurodegeneration: Biomarkers and Therapeutic Targets’ on Sept. 11 and 12.
Neurodegenerative diseases, encompassing conditions like Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, Huntington’s and Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, profoundly affect neuron function and result in cognitive decline, motor dysfunction and other debilitating symptoms. This Conference serves as a platform to address these pressing concerns and deliberate the scientific advancements.
The eminent resource personnel from various institutes of India (NIMHANS, IISER, Kolkata and NIPER-Ahmadabad) and United States of America (University of Pennsylvania, University of Colorado, The Nathan S Kline Institute for Psychiatric Research, New York) will be delivering the invited lectures and throw light on the insights of neurological disorders and their therapeutic targets. Overall, the event aims to showcase the importance of biomarkers in diagnosing the progression of neurodegenerative diseases and the scope of targeted therapy.
The Conference promotes collaboration and knowledge-sharing among experts in the field. About 250 delegates from different parts of the country, representing Institutes/ Universities of eminence working in this field will present their finding, discuss and deliberate on the innovative approaches adopted to enhance the quality of life for the individual affected by the neurodegenerative diseases.
