“Students should look beyond a subject to grasp knowledge and perform better” opined Javagal Srinath, former International Cricketer. He was speaking after inaugurating ‘Instrument Society of India (ISOI), Student Chapter’ at an event organised by Department of Instrumentation Technology of JSS Science and Technology University at the premises of Sri Jayachamarajendra College of Engineering here this morning.
Srinath, who is incidentally an alumnus of SJCE, thanked the faculty for encouraging him in sports. He opined that a degree education was essential today to advance in career and acquire a good social status. Referring to sports he opined that there should be no discrimination between senior and junior players as the latter too may possess good talent. He observed that Information Technology was the mother of all subjects. He advised students not to become bookworms but interact with fellow students and staff as is being done in USA. Dr. B.G. Sangameshwara, Vice-Chancellor, JSS- STU was the Chief Guest. ISOI Executive Council Member Dr. N.C. Shivaprakash, SJCE Principal, Dr. T.N. Nagabhushan, Department Head Dr. V. Uday Shankar and others were present.
