Chikkamagaluru District Chess Association under the aegis of the United Karnataka Chess Association (UKCA) jointly with the Chikkamangaluru District Journalist Union, Mudigere Taluk Journalist Union and Horanadu Sri Annapoorneshwari Temple, will be conducting the Karnataka State Open Chess Tournament at the Sri Annapoorneshwari Temple premises, Horanadu on Feb.3 – 4, 2018. The total cash prize fund for the tournament is Rs. 1.09 lakh cash prizes will be given up to the 25th place. Separate cash prizes for Rated (Under 1800), Unrated Rated (Under 1200), Rated (Under 1400) and Rated (Under 1600) is in the offing.

Cash prizes for Chikkamagaluru District players, veterans above 55 years and ladies above 18 years will be given.
