Mysore/Mysuru: The INTUC-affiliated KSRTC Workers Union has decided to submit memorandum containing charter of demands to the Chief Minister through Deputy Commissioners on Dec. 14 and Managing Directors of State Transport Corporations on Dec. 28.
Announcing this at a press meet here recently, Union President M. Mallaiah said that the demands included a 5 percent hike in wages with retrospective effect from Jan. 1, 2020, facilities to retired employees and overtime allowance, among others.
Alleging that KSRTC Management has been harassing workers and also depriving them of statutory benefits, Mallaiah wanted a revision of the agreement reached between the Management and the Trade Union, that ended on Dec. 31, 2019.
Pointing out that KSRTC Staff and Workers Federation had passed a resolution on Nov. 30, seeking wage revision and fulfilment of various other demands, he accused the authorities of failing to remit Insurance premiums which have been cut from the salaries of employees, to the Insurance Company.
Urging the Government to take measures for fulfilment of their demands, he reiterated that a memorandum will be submitted to the Chief Minister in this regard, through DCs and MDs of Transport Corporations, in order to draw the attention of the Government.
