Link roads will be developed by MUDA: Nanjangud MLA

January 9, 2019

Nanjangud:  Nanjangud MLA B. Harshavardhan has said that the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) will develop the link roads in a bid to de-congest the main roads passing through the town.

The MLA, along with MUDA Commissioner P.S. Kantharaj inspected the badly damaged road behind Citizen School in the town. The road that connects Devirammanahalli with Hullahalli road got damaged barely six months after asphalting. Due to the pathetic condition of the road, the motorists have a tough time travelling on the road.

The MLA said that measures will be taken to develop the road and widen it to 60 ft after clearing the encroachments on either side of the road.

Stating that the stretch of the road behind Citizen School, which connects with Ooty Road in front of Carmel School will be developed by the jurisdictional Gram Panchayat, Harshavardhan maintained that the development of this road was vital for easing pressure on the main roads.

The public appealed the MLA to erect barricades in front of Carmel School on Ooty Highway, as school children were finding it difficult to cross the busy road.

MUDA Commissioner P.S. Kantharaj said that the park at Thomas Layout in Housing Board Colony and the park at old Housing Board Colony will be developed for the benefit of the public and the basic infrastructure at MUDA layouts in the town will be improved.

The MLA later heard grievances from the public at Chamalapura Hundi Extension. The MLA assured to address their grievances at the earliest.

MUDA member Girish, MUDA SE Suresh Babu, Nanjangud CMC Commissioner Vijay, AEE Bhaskar, RO Vinod, Nanjangud TP President B.S. Mahadevappa and others were present.
