Literary work penned with love and devotion attracts readers: Former VC

Mysore/Mysuru: Prof. Mallepuram G. Venkatesh, former Vice-Chancellor, Sanskrit University, has opined that it was possible to see ‘intuitive vision’ of work if the author writes with love and allegiance.

He was speaking after releasing a book ‘Aaradigol’ written by Dr. B.V. Vasanth Kumar (Chairman of Karnataka Sahitya Academy) at the Institution of Engineers-India (IEI) on JLB Road in city on Monday.

Prof. Venkatesh said that writing a book in Kannada was not an easy task as it required in-depth study. Vasanth Kumar was an extraordinary writer and that reflects in his work, thanks to his intensive study of subjects. The author has successfully blended both music and literature in his work.

Hitherto, littérateurs were writing books after detailed study. But, the present day writers do not do it and they think themselves great. Because of this attitude, their works often fail to catch the attention of readers. Any writer, who wishes to make a mark in literary field, must study the subject well before writing, he noted.

Prof. Nandeesh Hanche, Chairman, Kannada Book Authority, said that the work ‘Aaradigol’ has 630 pages with 62 articles. No small writer can write this huge volume without a deep study. This book was the confluence of ‘Bruhaddeshi’ of music field and ‘Kavirajamarga’ of literature. It was indeed an arduous task since both music and literature are totally different and contrast.

Noted littérateur Dr. C.P. Krishna Kumar (CPK), author Dr. B.V. Vasanth Kumar, Kannada Sahitya Kalakoota President M. Chandrashekar and Publisher T.S. Chayapathi were present.
