M.R. Narayana Rau (86), retired advocate and a resident of Vijayanagar 1st Stage, passed away yesterday in city.

He leaves behind sons Dr. M.N. Ravi, Medical Director and Senior Heart Surgeon at Narayana Multi-Specialty Hospital, entrepreneurs M.N. Rajendra and M.N. Sanjay, daughter M.N. Rajini, English Professor at Maharani’s College, grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.

A native of Kalasa in Chikkamagalur district, Narayana Rau was a former coffee planter, philanthropist and a Trustee of many schools and temples.

Last rites were performed at Chirashanthidhama in Gokulam yesterday evening.
