Madivala Machidevara Jayanti will be celebrated in a meaningful way at 11.30 am on Feb.1 at Kalamandira in city, said Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) R. Lokanath. He was speaking at the preliminary meeting held in connection with Madivala Machidevara Jayanti celebration at DC Office recently.

Kannada and Culture Department Assistant Director  Dr. M.D. Sudarshan said that a singing programme will also be held as part of the cultural programme.

Community leaders who spoke at the meeting suggested that community members who have achieved in their chosen field should be felicitated on the occasion and the Vachanas of Madivala Machidevaru should be included in schools texts and their significance be made known to the society.

They also wanted Government officials to attend the function. Karnataka Government Employees Association District President J. Govindaraju,  Madivala Machidevara Association District President M. Raju, General Secretary Channakeshava, Vice-President Prashanth, Mysuru Taluk President Jayaram, Federation of Karnataka State Madivala Associations District President Manju B. Shetty and others were present.
