Man arrested after marrying sisters

May 17, 2021

Kolar: A man, who had married sisters, has now been arrested by the Police after the wedding video went viral on social media.

The arrested man is Rakesh (name changed). The bride, who was supposed to marry Rakesh had told him that she would tie the knot only if he marries her speech impaired sister. Bowing to her request, Rakesh married both of them at a wedding ceremony organised at Kuduremala Temple of Kolar district on May 7.

Rakesh’s troubles began when the Police knocked on the doors of his house at Vegamadagu village in Mulbagal taluk and arrested him after the video of him (Rakesh) marrying the two sisters went viral on social media recently. Rakesh was arrested as one of the sisters he had married was a minor.

Interestingly, the bride’s father had also married in a similar way. He had also married two sisters at the same time on the same day and one of the sisters was suffering from speech impairment.
