Mandya: A person, who was bound and placed inside the dickey of a car and being taken to an undisclosed placed by kidnappers, has managed to escape from the car in a filmy style near Shivalli  in the taluk yesterday.

The person, who was allegedly kidnapped, has been identified as Papu, son of Chikkaiah of Bhyrapatna in Chennapatna.

It is reported that some miscreants, who kidnapped Papu, tied his hands and legs, threw him inside the dickey of the car and were taking him to an undisclosed place.

When the car reached Shivalli, the dickey of the car opened as the car was travelling on a pothole-filled road. Papu, who saw the dickey open, kicked the dickey till it completely opened and managed to fall out of it.

He soon began to shout for help which attracted passersby, who rushed to his help.

The alleged kidnappers who saw people crowding at the spot fled from the place in the car.

Passersby later admitted Papu to the District Hospital.

Shivalli SI Pavithra, who has registered a case in this regard, is investigating. A missing complaint was also lodged at Chennapatna Police Station.
