Mysore/Mysuru: Manasa Yoga, a National Workshop, has been organised at the Millennium Hall in Platinum Jubilee Hall Complex, J.K. Grounds, Mysuru, on Aug. 14, as part of International Yoga Day-2025.

The workshop is organised under the joint aegis of Department of AYUSH, Government of Karnataka (GoK), Government Ayurveda Research Centre, Mysuru and Department of Psychiatry, Mysore Medical College and Research Institute (MMC&RI).

Vipin Singh, Commissioner of AYUSH, GoK, will inaugurate the workshop at 9.30 am. Dr. B.N. Gangadhar, former Chairperson, National Medical Commission, Delhi, will be the guest of honour and deliver keynote address. Dr. K. Chidananda Gowda, former VC, Kuvempu University, will be the chief guest. Dr. K.R. Dakshayani, Dean & Director, MMC&RI, presides.

Session 1: Dr. B.N. Raveesh, HoD & Professor, Department of Psychiatry, MMC&RI, will talk on ‘Yoga and Mental Health – A Clinical Review.’ Session 2: Dr. Shivarama Varambally, Professor, Department of Psychiatry, National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS), Bengaluru, will deliver a talk on ‘Yoga and Mental Health & Research Update and Success Stories.’ Session 3: Dr. B. Gurubasavaraja, Senior Professor and former Chief Medical Officer (CMO), JSS Ayurvedic Medical College and Hospital, will talk on ‘Yoga and Mental Health & Integrative Approach.

Dr. N. Anjaneya Murthy, former Joint Director, Department of AYUSH, GoK, will Chair the panel. Dr. S.G. Mangalagi, former Joint Director of AYUSH, GoK, Dr. Aruna, former Principal, Government Ayurveda Medical College (GAMC), Mysuru, Dr. N.V. Krishnamurthy, Principal, Maharaja Institute of Ayurveda Medical Sciences & Hospital, Mysuru, Dr. A.S. Chandrashekar, State Rajyotsava Awardee, Dr. S. Sandeep, Asst. Professor, Govt. Nature Cure and Yoga Medical College, Mysuru, Dr. Bhavya, Naturopathy & Yoga Physician, Dept. of AYUSH, Yogatma D. Srihari, Founder, GSS Yogic Research Foundation and Shashi Kumar, Bharat Swabhiman Trust, will speak.

Dr. C.N. Renuka, Project Research Scientist 1, Sri Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences and Research, Mysuru, will  be the Moderator.

Valedictory

The valedictory of the workshop will be held at 4.30 pm the same day. Amshi Prasannakumar, senior journalist, will deliver the valedictory address. Dr. Harish Babu, Deputy Director, Yoga and Naturopathy, AYUSH Department, GoK, will be the guest of honour.

Dr. K.S. Radhakrishna Ramarao, Principal, GAMC, Mysuru, Dr. Srivatsa, Principal, GNCYMC, Mysuru and Dr. B.N. Raveesh will be the chief guests.
