The MUDA Employees Layout, located adjacent to Rathnamanikya Cycling Institute and Shiva Temple on Dattagalli Ring Road, comprises three Cross Roads. Despite LED streetlights being installed on every pole in the 2nd and 3rd Cross by MCC, not a single LED streetlight has been provided for 1st Cross.

Additionally, while asphalt work has been completed for one Cross Road, the other two have remained untouched since the Layout’s formation almost two decades ago.

Residents have had to purchase control switches for streetlights at their own expense and plead with officials to have them installed. According to MUDA officials, no work will be undertaken in the Layout as it was handed over to MCC in 2019, and residents have been paying taxes to MCC since then. 

The absence of streetlights poses significant safety risks for seniors, women and children. 

Despite numerous appeals to elected representatives over the years, residents have faced discrimination and received no resolution to their concerns.
