MLA Ramdas launches overall development works of Parks in K.R. Constituency

January 18, 2023

Mysuru: Krishnaraja (KR) Constituency MLA S.A. Ramdas yesterday launched the overall development works of seven Parks in his Constituency.

The Parks that would be developed are: Tagadur Ramachandra Rao Park in Chamundipuram and the Park opposite to Shankaranarayana Swamy Temple in Ward No. 55, the Park on Ramanuja Road 19th Cross, Basaveshwara Park near Gun House Circle and Vishwamanava Kuvempu Park in Ward No. 51, the Park near Karaga Temple in Ittigegud and the Twin Park in K.C. Nagar coming under Ward No. 52.

Speaking on the occasion, Ramdas said that 16 Parks in the Constituency have been modified into thematic Parks to spread messages pertaining to health and yoga and also information on Kanakadasa, Basaveshwara and Science to the people.

Pointing out that works for the overall development of seven Parks were launched by him, he said that the development of all these Parks would be completed in two months to provide green cover for morning and evening walkers.

Corporators M.V. Ramprasad, B.V. Manjunath and Chayadevi, leaders Purushotham, Shivappa, Balakrishna, Vidya Urs, Umashankar, Sandeep, Kiran, Vijaya, Baby, Pavan, Vinay,  Murali, Mallikarjun, Dharmendra, Shantha, Manjunath, Rajkumar, Mahesh and others were present.

‘Maintain the sanctity of Parks Act’

It is commendable that MLA Ramdas has launched a long-delayed development plan to promote better management of Parks in his K.R. Constituency. During Shilpa Nag’s term as MCC Commissioner,  the activists had developed a vision document for preserving 525 Parks of Mysuru.

While we certainly should beautify the Parks and add to the greenery, it is against The Karnataka Parks, Play-Fields and Open Spaces (Preservation and Regulation) Act, 1985 to construct any buildings for any noble purpose like library, to teach science, to spread noble teachings, construct senior citizens’ health facilities, yoga centre, water tanks, etc. We urge the authorities to comply with the Act and maintain the sanctity of the Parks Act.

    Hello @Barmy Shenoy
Barmy, any response to your open letter to Narendra Modi, where you crafter your credentials, and suggesting to him the imperative of the piped gas project to Mysore city? Modi was here a few months ago, leading a yoga session at the Mysore Palace on the International Yoga Day. Did he meet you then/ I GUESS NOT.
Is that same Grahachara outfit, that is how your MGP is ridiculed by most, which you boast as the founder president, and on that platform you stood for a political position in 1990s and was soundly defeated?
You were among the those who stampeded into Mysore to settle in early 1980s, thus triggering the expansion of this once beautiful city of parks, and free spaces into a congested dump of housing extensions extending the city limits to miles further, after summarily removing the forest surrounding the city.
The Act you refer to, was enacted as a result of non-Mysoreans like you who arrived in massive numbers, and built their homesteads , just about anywhere there was free space. NOW, YOU CITE THAT ACT, ! What a hypocrite! Always attention seeker!!

It is clear why, Barmy Shenoy quotes that 1985 Act, and shows off his superior credentials-so he thinks poor man, is because , this MLA has not consulted him. The last paragraph there clearly suggests that Barmy Shenoy is pissed off, being ignored !
Barmy Shenoy, keeps on reminding even those who do not want to know about his position as the founding member of this organisation MGP, at best a congregation of retirees, who have no better work to do-Barmy, a retired Military person who built culverts for the army, Chandra Prasad, who writes pathetically bad articles about Mysore development etc.. This bunch feel aggrieved if they are not consulted on environmental issues, pretending to ignore the environment destruction they caused when they moved en masse to settle in a serene city,! They want Mysoreans to forget their contribution towards the environment destruction!
Barmy’s articles on Ne India, comparing it to Switzerland-for ta start this comparison is spurious as Switzerland is a relatively, small country, with just 3 languages , unlike a swathe of NE Indian territories with a dozen languages, in the shadow of the beautiful Alps with snow around year. Well those articles -3 in number have been archived, after attracting no attention!
