Mysuru: Following complaints of irregularities and maladministration, the Karnataka Government has appointed an Administrative Officer for Mugur Karnataka Brahmana Sangha, located at Chamundipuram in city.
The Under-Secretary to the Co-operation Department R. Senthamarai, in an order issued recently, said that failure to convene Annual General Body Meeting (AGM) of the Sangha for eight consecutive years, violation of the Co-operative Societies Act and failure on the part of the Sangha’s Executive Committee office-bearers to protect the properties of the Sangha, were the main reasons for the appointment of the administrator.
The Assistant Registrar of Co-operative Societies has been appointed as the administrator of the Sangha for a six-month period.
The administrator has been instructed to set right the lapses, hold elections to the Sangha and hand over charge to the newly elected executive body of the Sangha in this period.
