Mysuru Railway Station goes ‘filmy’ for Swachh Bharat

December 5, 2017

Mysuru: The Mysuru Railway Station has adopted a unique and ‘filmy’ way of spreading the message of cleanliness by putting up flexes with photos of Kannada actors as part of ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’ campaign. These flexes have messages from the actors asking the public to keep the Railway Station clean.

The flex contains photos of legendary Kannada actors late Dr. Rajkumar and Dr. Vishnuvardhan and also comedians Jaggesh and Sadhu Kokila appealing the public to keep the Railway Station clean and also the fines being imposed for littering waste.

This is being done so that Mysuru city could regain the ‘Cleanest City’ tag for 2018.

While the photo of late Dr. Rajkumar appeals commuters to keep the Mysuru Railway Station clean in Kannada, the photo of late Dr. Vishnuvardhan tells the commuters not even to think of littering wastes on the platforms as CCTV cameras have been installed in every corner of the Mysuru Railway Station in Hindi.

Actor Jaggesh’s photo tells that those who spoil the cleanliness of the Railway Station to stand in a line and pay Rs. 100, 300, 500… as fine in a humorous way, while Sadhu Kokila’s photo tells “Why Rs. 500 for chewing Rs.10 beeda and spitting on the platform?”

“The flexes have a great sense of humour and it’s a terrific idea to spread the message of cleanliness among the passengers in this way. An initiative of this sort will help the Railway Station remain cleaner,” said Durgaprasad, a passenger.
