N.V. Shivanna (85), a senior Congress leader of Naganahalli in the taluk, passed away at a private Hospital in the city yesterday.

Shivanna, a close associate of former Chief Minister Siddharamaiah, had sustained injuries on his waist in a fall while travelling in a bus recently, following which he was admitted to the hospital, where he breathed his last yesterday.

He leaves behind a son, two daughters and a host of relatives and friends. Last rites were performed at his farmland in Naganahalli this afternoon, according to family sources.
