Mysore/Mysuru: Prof. T.V. Venkatachala Sastry and Prof. Bhashyam Swamiji, who were recently conferred with Nadoja awards by the Hampi Kannada University were felicitated at a function held at Kalyanotsava Bhavan in Yoga Narasimhaswamy Temple premises in Vijayanagar on Tuesday.
Senior writer Dr. C.P. Krishnakumar (CPK) felicitated the two recipients of Nadoja award.
Speaking on the occasion, CPK said that it is really a matter of honour to felicitate the award winners. “Prof. Venkatachala Shastry and Prof. Bhashyam Swamiji are not just achievers, but achievers of top class. Both of them have brought honour to the Nadoja award itself. These two are the diamonds of Mysuru, not ordinary diamonds but Kohinoor diamonds. The aged tapasvees have kept alive Spiritualism and Religion in the society,” he added.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Venkatachala Shastry said that he had a feeling that his life is not wasted and felt a sense of fulfilment. We have served Goddess Saraswathi and need to ensure that it is not disrupted.
Prof. Bhashyam Swamiji said that he was feeling proud to get the Nadoja award along with Prof. T.V. Venkatachala Shastry and added that he has brought out 172 books in Kannada and Sanskrit which is a matter of pride to him.
Writer Dr. Latha Rajashekar released a book written by Dr. A. Pushpa Iyengar titled ‘Balu Belagitu.’ Social worker A. Vaidehi, Prof. K. Leela Prakash, S.H. Mahadeva Nayaka and others participated in the Mungaru Kavi Goshti held later.
Mysuru District Kannada Sahitya Parishat former President Prof. N. Girigowda, Convenors H.R. Bhadreeshkumar, Bogadi Siddegowda and others were present on the occasion.
