Need city bus to connect Ramakrishnanagar with Kuvempunagar depot

March 17, 2020

Sir,

There is a need to connect Ramakrishnanagar with Vivekananda Circle and Kuvempunagar bus depot. Several localities (such as Health Block, E&F Block) in Ramakrishnanagar  quite far away from the main road on which city buses operate have been put to considerable difficulty in reaching the Vivekananda Circle and Kuvempunagar depot where more commercial activities take place and many connections to other areas of Mysuru are provided by Ksrtc.

It is suggested to kindly extend the existing bus routes 61, 62, 63 etc., upto Kuvempunagar depot via Vivekananda Circle.

At present these buses terminate at Vrishabha Circle in Ramakrishnanagar near Lingambudhi Lake. They park these buses during their breaks on the road side occupying much space and many times with the engine running idle, creating obstacle and pollution to nearby houses.

The staff on these buses refuse to take ladies and senior citizens up to Vivekananda Circle which is about half-a-km away, even when the buses are doing their last lap and going to Kuvempunagar depot.

Passengers are very much inconvenienced with the withdrawal of route No.136 (contra route to 135) for so many years. This difficulty is all the more great when the Railway journey is in the night after 9 pm, when both Chamundi and Vishwamanava Express reach Mysuru.

I wish to appeal to the authorities concerned in KSRTC and other service-minded people’s representatives (MLAs and Corporators) to show some concern to the travails of the travelling public and do the needful as early as possible.
