Mysuru: Senior JD(S) leader and Hunsur MLA A.H. Vishwanath has said he is ready with his yet another work ‘Sadanadalli Kudukaru’ (drunkards in House), but is not sure of printing it, thanks to the ‘real life’ characters in the book, who are dissuading him from publishing the book for the past three years.
Speaking after releasing the book ‘Jeevana Sambhrama – Nityanubhavada Melukugalu,’ authored by Dr. M.R. Ravi, Commissioner and Director, Handloom and Textile Department, Bengaluru, at Rani Bahadur auditorium here yesterday, Vishwanath, who is known for his satirical remarks, recalled how fellow Legislators attended sessions in an inebriated condition.
Pointing out that it has been three years since final touches were given to the book, Vishwanath maintained that the book has not been printed so far at the insistence of a few senior leaders.
Asserting that he wanted the book to be printed at the earliest as the people should know about drunkard Legislators, he said that while some of them are dead, some others are still alive. “I want to go ahead with the plans of printing the book,” he noted.
Recalling how one of his controversial works ‘Halli Hakkiya Haadu’ had created a craze, Vishwanath claimed that he also became a writer with that book.
Observing that the credit for the craze goes to the rumour mills, Vishwanath said that the book has a mention of the reported relationship between former Chief Minister S.M. Krishna and actress B. Saroja Devi.
However, it was only after reading the book, it became clear that there was nothing like the stuff people were wanting for, he pointed out and added that such was the craze for reading his ‘Halli Hakkiya Haadu’ work, that he saw some of the officials in the Secretariat poring over the book.
He further said that such was the curiosity about the book, that it was suffice to trigger a question — was it a ‘A’ certificate book, which remark sent the gathering into peels of laughter.
