Sir,
This morning I made an attempt to access the Income Tax e-filing portal and I observed that the process is not simple as made out to be! On logging in, one is asked to update one’s profile. On updating, it points to discrepancy in profile updated and the data available in the PAN database.
This follows with a link to the NSDL site for updation of personal information such as corrections in PAN data. This process does not reach completion as it conveys that one has to tick the consent message, which is found impossible to locate.
Most of the PAN data remains the same except for changes in address, telephone numbers and employer as the case may be! Since the PAN number is indicated, most of the available information such as name, date of birth can be filled automatically, allowing for corrections in the fields desired by the PAN holder.
Fundamental problem is that one cannot access any details from one’s account without this update process.
Can it be hoped that the concerned will look into this and any other glitches that may be observed by other members?
