Online Fraud: Woman accountant loses over Rs. 6 lakh

Mysuru: Online fraudsters have cheated a woman accountant of over Rs. 6 lakh in city.

The woman accountant, who lost her money is Prameela (name changed), a resident of Vijayanagar in city.

Prameela received a message on her Telegram App asking her to complete simple tasks to get good profits and ignored the message initially but later replied to the message showing her interest in it.

Later, as per instructions from the online fraudsters, she opened the task account and received Rs. 1,000 for completing a task. She was later told to invest money and complete the tasks for which she would be given huge  profits.

Believing it, Prameela first invested Rs. 10,000 and completed the task, for which she received Rs. 20,800 as profit.

Later, she invested Rs. 10,000 more and completed the given task but her profit was put on hold asking her to invest more money. The fraudsters got Prameela invest over Rs. 6 lakh in phases thus cheating her.

A case has been registered at city’s CEN Police Station.
