Over 7 quintal banned plastic seized, Rs. 95,100 fines imposed

Mysore/Mysuru: Continuing their drive against storing and selling of banned plastic items in city, the staff of Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) led by MCC Additional Deputy Commissioner M.J. Roopa, yesterday conducted raids on shops selling and storing banned plastic items and have seized over 7 quintal of banned plastic besides imposing a total fine of Rs. 95,100 on shop owners.

The sale and storing of banned plastic materials and items made from them are banned in city and the MCC is taking all steps to prevent storing and selling of the banned items as they would cause damage to the environment.

So far, the MCC has seized tonnes of banned plastic items from traders across the city and have collected a total fine of Rs. 11.17 lakh from the traders.
