‘My first priority will be to allot sites to deserving in a transparent manner’
Mysuru: Senior KAS Officer P.S. Kantharaju took charge as the new Commissioner of Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) here this morning from In-Charge Commissioner G. Jagadeesha.
Kantharaju, who was serving as the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) of Bengaluru Urban District, was recently transferred as MUDA Commissioner in place of Dr. M. Mahesh, who was posted as Personal Secretary to the Transport Minister at Bengaluru.
Speaking to SOM after taking charge, Kantharaju said that Mysuru was not new to him as he had earlier served as Tahsildar in Mysuru and as MUDA Special Land Acquisition Officer.
Stating that he has got a good opportunity now to serve the citizens of Mysuru, Kantharaju said that his first priority would be to fulfill MUDA’s primary objective of allotting sites to deserving citizens in a most transparent manner.
Listing out his other priorities, the new MUDA Commissioner said that the ongoing projects will be expedited and such projects and initiatives launched in last year’s budget will be given preference.
Pointing out that he will first review all sections of MUDA, he said that he would work towards ensuring that long-pending files are appropriately disposed off.
Stressing on the need for disposal of files within a time-frame, he said that he would strive for bringing about transparency, discipline and punctuality in MUDA’s functioning with the co-operation of MUDA Chairman and staff.
