Pedestrian-friendly footpath needed on Kalidasa Road

August 5, 2020

Sir,

Kalidasa road has become one of the busiest roads in Mysuru, having a large number of banks, restaurants, medical facilities and other commercial activities. Though the road is broad, the stretch from Panchavati Circle to Chandrakala Hospital lacks a safely walkable footpath.

Vehicles will be parked on either sides of the road. Due to undulated and un-safe footpath, pedestrians are constrained to walk on the road, close to the parked vehicles. Vehicles zoom past these pedestrians inviting un-warranted accidents.

MCC should immediately level the footpath from Panchavati Circle to Chandrakala Hospital and pave the pavement tiles to make the footpath safe for the pedestrians.
