Poachers arrested at BRT Tiger Reserve

Villagers caught them and handed over to Forest officials

Mysuru: Villagers of Biligiri Ranganatha Hill have caught two poachers, who had illegally entered Biligiri Ranganathaswamy Temple (BRT) Tiger Reserve Forest and were attempting to poach wild animals.

The alleged poachers are Nanjunda and Prasanna Kumar. While one poacher is said to be from Bengaluru, the other is said to be a resident of a   nearby village.

Based on the information provided by former Gram Panchayat Vice-President Srivivas, Sheshadri, Kumar,  Santosh, Biligiri Ranganathaswamy Temple Employees Association President Kantharaju and others, Yalandur RFO Mahadevaiah and staff, who rushed to the spot, took the two poachers into custody and   are investigating.
