Poster campaign against GST burden

July 24, 2025

Bengaluru: City-based KMPK Trust has accused the State Government of imposing excessive GST burdens on small traders, pushing them into financial distress.

In a poster-pasting campaign held outside Freedom Fighters’ Park on Narayan Shastri Road, members displayed placards reading “Protect Small Traders from Tax Struggles” to draw the Government’s attention.

The Trust condemned what it called the Government’s repressive move of issuing overnight GST notices demanding lakhs of rupees from small vendors, claiming it threatened the livelihoods of countless families.

“Many small vendors earn their daily sustenance through modest trades. Before issuing GST notices, there must be efforts to raise awareness. How these notices were served is unjust,” the Trust stated in its appeal.

Trust Members Vikram Iyengar, Parmesh Gowda, Pramod Gowda, Abhi, S.N. Rajesh and others took part in the campaign.
