Mysuru: Krishnaswamy Shastri was conferred ‘Pourohitya Vidvanmani’ title by Hemmige Sriviashnava Sabha recently for his contributions for the past 50 years in the field of Pourohitya.

The title was given by Founder of the Hemmige Sabha H.B. Narasimhachar. The Sabha also felicitated members who had crossed 80 and 90 years of age numbering to 14. Noted flautist Vamshidhar, littérateur Srilakshmi were also feted on the occasion.

Every year, Hemmige Sriviashnava Sabha conducts its Thulamaasa festivities. The Sabha also honoured meritorious students and presented awards.

The function was presided by HVLN Achar. Krishnaswamy Shastry and H.B. Naradimhachar were the chief guests.

Earlier, Sabha Secretary H.B. Gopalakrishna welcomed the gathering. Vijay Hemmige proposed a vote of thanks and compered the programme.
