Mysuru: Hectic preparations are on for the Divisional-level Mega Udyoga Mela and Skill Development at the Maharaja’s College Grounds on Mar.3, 4 and 5. A preparatory meeting was held at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office yesterday where DC D. Randeep directed the officials to make arrangements for a glitch-free Mela.
Thousands of job-seekers from Mysuru, Mandya, Kodagu, Hassan and Chamarajanagar are expected to take part in the Mela and over 100 software companies are expected to participate.
The Mela is being organised by Labour, Employment Generation and Skill Development Ministry, Mysuru District Administration and Karnataka Skill Development Department. The companies are expected to recruit over 10,000 candidates for various jobs at different levels. The Mega Mela is being held at a cost of Rs.1.2 crore and job-seekers can register their names at www.skilland jobfair.com; Those candidates who have not registered too can attend the Mela.
Briefing press persons at Maharaja’s College Grounds here this morning, MLA M.K. Somashekar said that about 15,000 candidates have registered for the Job Mela. He further said that the candidates would be groomed to face the interview on Mar.3 followed by regular interview on Mar.4 and 5.
Continuing, Somashekar said that CM Siddharamaiah would distribute the offer letters to candidates on Mar.5.
