Private bus fares to go up from Feb. 20

February 17, 2025

Over a month after the State Government hiked State-run Transport Corporations’ (KSRTC, NWKRTC, KKRTC and BMTC) bus fares, the private bus fares in Mysuru and Chamarajanagar districts too would go up by over 5 percent from Feb. 20.

This decision was taken at a meeting of Mysuru-Chamarajanagar District Private Bus Owners Association held here recently. The meeting discussed in detail the rising losses due to the introduction of ‘Shakti’ scheme that allows free travel for women in State-run Transport Corporations, increasing prices of spare parts and fuel, rising maintenance and operational expenses etc. The steady decrease of daily commuters, resulting in revenue loss, too was among the other bothering issues that were discussed at the meeting.

Mysuru Private Bus Owners Association President K. Shivalingu, his Chamarajanagar counterpart Anwar Pasha and other office-bearers attended the meeting.
