February 24, 2024

Mysore/Mysuru: “Learning will be more effective if stories, poetry, novels and dramas in school and college texts are presented in visual form to students,” said South Zone Internal Security Division Superintendent of Police (SP) Dr. A.N. Prakash Gowda.

He was speaking after inaugurating ‘PUC Curriculum-based Theatre Performance’ programme organised by Adamya Rangashale and Spandana Cultural Council at Daksha College in city recently.

Pointing out that literature and culture are as important as knowledge acquisition during education, he said that literature contains good ideas and students should apply them in life.

Stating that parents provide necessary privileges for children to study well, he called upon the students to study diligently and serve the society as good officers or employees.

Dr. Prakash Gowda said that besides earning money, service spirit is also important as any profession is respected if done with vigour and sincerity. He advised the students to follow traffic rules like wearing helmets and not to drive rashly.

Tourism Department Joint Director M.K. Savitha spoke about rural students who achieved well in education field and held  high posts. “Almost all officers today are from the poor and middle class background,” she said.

“There is so much time in a student’s life. In addition to making good use of it, one should give up bad habits and maintain physical and mental health. Instead of accepting actors as ideals, one should accept elite achievers as ideals,” she said and suggested that one should adopt a simple way of life, have goals and study with concentration and perseverance.
