Sir,
It is a pity that Kukkarahalli Kere walking track is badly in need of repairs and renovation (SOM dated Jan.9) and one hopes it gets the urgent attention from authorities concerned.
Meanwhile, Cheluvamba Park walking track which had become a nightmare for walkers has now been renovated as suggested by some concerned readers and regular walkers through this column — what with laying of path with quality soil and river sand and further provision of drainage on either side of walking track.
There was a heavy downpour overnight earlier this week but next morning there was neither water-logging nor the consequent slipping, much to the relief of regular walkers in this lovely park as a result of renovation.
Therefore, the MCC Commissioner and his staff deserve a pat on the back. And SOM too which has always articulated its readers’ concerns to the civic authorities effectively.
One hopes, MCC shows the same zeal in renovating Kukkarahalli Lake walking track too. I can’t but empathise with the walkers on this track as I still feel emotionally connected to this picturesque Lake and its idyllic surroundings since I used to regularly take morning walks until a few years back while staying in Mysore University faculty quarters (Mansagangothri) earlier.
