Sir,
Much to the chagrin of the people of Mysuru, the Yeswantpur-Karwar Express has been rescheduled and now touches Mysuru only thrice a week. The rationale behind the new schedule is hard to understand because this revised schedule is causing inconvenience to travellers of Bengaluru as well due to its early departure.
Firstly, it now departs Bengaluru at 7.15 pm as against 8.30 pm. Also, there is a gain of only 40 minutes in travelling time compared to the earlier schedule. Secondly, no arrangement had been made so that Mysureans can catch the train at Hassan at 11.05 pm. They have to take the 6.20 pm Arsikere passenger and then wait for a long time at the Hassan station.
Also, if the train can be bifurcated at the Mangaluru station to cater to the people of Kannur, why is it not possible to bifurcate it at the Hassan station to cater to the people of Mysuru ?
A large number of people of Mysuru used to take this train everyday and this step has certainly caused a lot of inconvenience to us.
