Mysuru: The Mysuru City Police will launch a Mobile Command Centre vehicle soon. The vehicle, costing Rs. 2.50 crore which arrived from Punjab on Jan.16 and stationed at CAR Grounds, is probably the first-of-its-kind in the State.
The hi-tech vehicle, which has all the features of a Police Control Room, will be on the move to capture all the action live at the places where it is stationed.
In the light of the approaching Assembly elections, the City Police acquiring such a hi-tech vehicle assumes significance. The Mobile Command Centre consists of three finger print units, anti-sabotage check unit, bomb squads and many other features.
It has 18 cameras including six inside the vehicle and the rest outside that can capture any riot, mob attack or group clash in one km radius.
The multi-purpose vehicle can house 30 Police personnel inside at a time, said a source in the Police Department. Such vehicles are in use in many advanced countries and funded by voluntary organisations too.
