Mandya: Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy held a whirlwind campaign for his son Nikhil Kumaraswamy in K.R. Nagar taluk of Mandya Lok Sabha Constituency yesterday.
Expressing his ire against the troll ‘Nikhil yellidyappa…’ that has gone viral on the social media, he countered it by asking his party workers to shoot back telling ‘Nikhil namma hrudayadalliddane…’ meaning Nikhil is in our hearts.
A few of the youths asked him about the troll ‘Nikhil yellidyappa’ while the CM was campaigning with his son Nikhil in Narayanapura village. He told them that he knew who was trolling and asked them to tell that ‘Nikhil is in our hearts.’
Seeks votes and disappears: Launching a tirade against Mandya Lok Sabha independent candidate Sumalatha Ambarish, who is also his son Nikhil’s opponent, Kumaraswamy said that instead of supporting the people who come to seek votes during the elections and disappear, it is better to cast votes in favour of candidates who will always be there amidst the people and respond to their problems.
As announced in the Budget, the Government is committed to waive off farmers’ loans completely, he said and added since the Coalition Government needs some more support to complete other development programmes, the voters’ support is very important. There is a strong wave in favour of coalition candidates throughout the State and hence we are confident of winning maximum number of seats, said Kumaraswamy.
True to the stage ‘Hetthavarige heggana muddu’ there was no basis whatsoever for Karnataka Chief Minister H.D.Kumaraswamy to project his son Nikhil as the JD(S) candidate from the Mandya Loksabha consituency needlessly replacing erstwhile party MP Shivramegowda who had been elected six months back.He has only pushed family’s quest for political power to a new low as Nikhil continues only as political novice with people of Karnataka only remembering him as an accused in a late night bar brawl in Bengaluru years ago causing much embarassment to his father heading the State Government.
After election people of Mandya will be inquiring – NIKHIL YELLIDYAPPA!!!!!!
Is it possible that Nikhil’s star in the sandalwood is fading? Is this reason why he is entering politics? Perhaps acting in the political theater is less demanding and the audience can be fooled easily! Or the family wants him to continue the “Dharode of Karnataka” his thatha started.
