Following complaints that some schools are forcing children to pay school fees, the Department of Public Instruction has asked the school managements to refrain from asking the students directly for payment of fees. In a press release, the DDPI has asked the School heads to contact the parents directly instead of asking the children and also to ensure a child-friendly atmosphere in schools.
