Selected for DVG Literary Award

Mysore/Mysuru: C.H. Gopal Bhat, a noted limerick poet from Kerala, has been selected for the prestigious ‘Dr. DVG Muktaka Sahitya Award’ given by the city’s Karnataka Muktaka Sahitya Academy Trust.

Gopal Bhat will be conferred the award at a programme to take place at Rotary West auditorium in Saraswathipuram, commencing at 10.30 am on Feb. 22.

Karnataka Border Areas Development Authority Chairman Dr. C. Somashekar, also a former IAS Officer, will inaugurate the programme. Former University of Mysore and KSOU Vice-Chancellor Prof. K.S. Rangappa will release three books.

The valedictory will be held at 4.30 pm the same day in the presence of KSOU Vice-Chancellor Dr. Sharanappa V. Halse.

Several achievers from different fields will be honoured on the occasion. The event will also feature a folk songs presentation by Honnaru Folk  Singers Group  headed by noted folk scholar Dr. P.K. Rajashekar.
