Mysuru: More than hundred senior citizens took part in the ‘Stroll-a-thon’ organised by Vayah Vikas, a non-profit organisation at University of Mysore Athletic Grounds (Oval Grounds) located opposite Crawford Hall in city on Saturday.
The event, organised to promote healthy lifestyle, physical activities and social interaction among the elderly people, was flagged by Pramoda Devi Wadiyar, Member of the Erstwhile Mysore Royal Family. The elderly citizens walked from the Oval Grounds till Mysore Court Complex on Krishnaraja Boulevard and took a U-turn and returned to the Oval Grounds.

University of Mysore VC Prof. N.K. Lokanath, who spoke on the occasion, said senior citizens should adopt walking on a daily basis for better health and added that early morning walking, done with company, would become more enjoyable.
Vayah Vikas Chairperson Kris Gopalakrishnan, Founder-Members Dr. Devi Prasad Shetty, Dr. Alexander Thomas, Gauri Kumar, Dr. Girdhar J. Gyani, Arun Seth, Srinath Reddy, Prof. O.V. Nandimath, CEO Jamuna Ravi and others were present.
