Electronic equipment worth lakhs of rupees gutted

Nanjangud: Tension prevailed for sometime at the Computer Room in Nanjangud Court premises following fire that destroyed electronic equipments worth lakhs of rupees yesterday. The fire was a result of short circuit.

The incident took place in the afternoon at the Computer room situated on the first floor of the Court Complex. The fire has destroyed six computers, UPS, photo copier machine and other electronic equipments.

As thick black smoke began to emanate from the Computer room, the Judge and advocates who were busy with the Court proceedings and the public, rushed out of the Court hall in panic, causing tension for some time.

Soon, Fire and Emergency Service personnel, who rushed to the spot along with fire extinguishing equipments, managed to douse the fire and prevented it from spreading further.
