Mysore/Mysuru: The Shuka Vana, a specialised rehabilitation centre for parrots located at the Avadhoota Datta Peetham (Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Ashram) in Mysuru, will temporarily close its doors to the public from tomorrow (June 1).

According to an official press announcement issued by the Ashram administration, the temporary closure is required to facilitate extensive developmental and upgrade works within the aviary premises. The facility will remain closed until further notice.

Only Shuka Vana will be closed during this period. The adjacent Vishwam Museum and the Bonsai Garden will continue to remain open for visitors as usual, the press release added.

Shuka Vana, which holds a Guinness World Record for housing the highest number of bird species in an aviary, is a major ecological landmark in Mysuru, attracting thousands of tourists and bird lovers weekly.
