Mandya bags Overall Championship

Stressing on the need for every employee of each Department to develop professional skills, University of Mysore (UoM) Vice-Chancellor Prof. G. Hemantha Kumar said that skills and proficiency will come with exposure to changes.

He was speaking at the valedictory of ‘Southern Range Police Duty Meet’ organised at Karnataka Police Academy (KPA) in Nazarbad here on Thursday.

Noting that computers have replaced human work, he said that our job is to analyse what the computer has done.

Pointing out that UoM will be organising programmes such as Hackathon and Ideathon, he said that such programmes will help the students to hone their skills and also enhance their knowledge and creativity. He further said that updating skills hold key for success in work.

Referring to his visit to Chamundi Hill, he said that he has seen many youths, most of whom are Police job aspirants, climbing the Hill steps as a physical exercise, Prof.Hemantha Kumar said that one must bear in mind that hard work will get reward, which should be used appropriately.

IGP(Southern Range) Vipul Kumar, congratulating the winners of the Meet, said that the Southern Range Police must target at least ten medals at the National Police Sports Meet to take place in Punjab later this month.

Stressing on the need for organised efforts in the Police force, he said that the Police must always remember that team work holds key to success. He further said that the Police Department was planning to allow probationers at KPA to take up Criminology and Psychology studies in UoM.

Mandya district bagged the Overall Championship at the Police Duty Meet.

City Police Commissioner Dr. Chandragupta, Mysuru SP C.B. Ryshyanth, Kodagu SP Suman D. Pennekar, Chamarajanagar SP H.D. Anandkumar and others were present.
