Sir,
As Dasara festival is just few weeks away, necessary advanced arrangements by the Railways to run Dasara special trains between Bengaluru and Mysuru is now highly necessary. We are thankful for the recent introduction of new MEMU services and extension of some of the trains that terminate at Bengaluru upto Mysuru.
Further, an extensive effort by Railways is necessary to provide hassle-free connectivity between the two cities owing to the upcoming Dasara festival rush. Such an effort can also be undertaken by extending some more trains terminating at Bengaluru that arrive from various places with high demand like Mumbai, Hyderabad, Kochuveli, Chennai and New Delhi.
Running of Jan Sadharan Specials and Express/Superfast trains will bring relief for many to travel by train to Mysuru and thus avoid road travel chaos owing to the current 10-lane National Highway upgradation work.
It is also requested to run 12007/12008 Chennai Central-Mysuru Shatabdi Express on all days of the week instead of present six days a week. A daily Shatabdi Express to Bengaluru/Chennai as an interim arrangement will help ensure to cater to the needs of both domestic and international tourists arriving to Mysuru to witness Dasara festivities.
Hence, an effort should be made to introduce new special trains and also to consider the extension of certain long distance trains from Bengaluru upto Mysuru. The suggestion can be experimented on a short- term basis during the upcoming Dasara festival and may be continued on permanent basis on popular demand.
