State to witness rapid growth in all fields post NEP implementation: Higher Education Minister

December 14, 2020

Bengaluru: Karnataka, a leading State in IT/BT sector, will soon emerge as number one in Agriculture, Industry, services and Health Sector in some years after the implementation of National Education Policy (NEP), said Deputy Chief Minister and Higher Education Minister Dr. C.N. Ashwath Narayana.

Delivering the convocation address of the CMR University through virtual dais here on Saturday, he said the policy which has been formulated with a foresight would show a new direction to the country. It was going to benefit Karnataka than other States since a majority of persons in the drafting committee were Kannadigas.

“At present, Karnataka has achieved excellence in the field of Information Technology, Bio-Technology, Electronics, Research and other allied fields. The very face of conventional and academic-based education was going to change after NEP implementation. The State would make surprising development in the field of Industries, Agriculture, Horticulture, Irrigation, Health Services and Transport in the coming days,” the Minister said.

He opined it was possible to find solutions to social and economic problems being faced by the country only through education.

Solution can be found out for all problems in education. It was possible to bring in visible changes in all fields if education was taken to every phase in society. The Task Force on draft NEP had already submitted its report and the recommendations were being looked into at the Government level. The officials were busy in making necessary changes in administrative and legal requirements for the NEP implementation. In all probability, the policy would be implemented in a phased manner from the coming year. “We are going to witness growth of State in all spheres through the power of knowledge”, he said.
