Mysuru: A pack of stray dogs attacked and killed four sheep, leaving ten others severely injured at Haropura village near Suttur in Mysuru.
The attack occurred at the sheep shed of Mahadeva Shetty, where the animals were tied. The village comes under Thayoor Gram Panchayat limits.
The stray dogs reportedly barged into the shed late at night and mauled the sheep. Prompt action by the villagers, who informed veterinarians, helped save two sheep.
Akshata and her team from Thayoor Veterinary Hospital arrived and provided emergency treatment and managed to save two sheep but ten sheep are in critical condition.
Haropura GP members Kumar and Sudha Manjunath visited the affected family, consoled them and assured them that compensation would be arranged through the Panchayat and Government channels.
The incident has heightened concerns among villagers about the growing stray dog menace, which is also causing fear among children. Residents urged authorities to take immediate steps to address the issue, ensuring safety for both people and livestock.
