This is in reference to my letter ‘Why no action yet on pedestrian crossing signal lights?’ (SOM dated May 1).

There is one traffic signal light in each direction, along with those for pedestrian crossing, at the Akka Mahadevi Road junction in J.P. Nagar. For reasons best known to the authorities, these signal lights are not being switched on regularly. They were switched on only for a few hours on 3-4 days.

This is causing a lot of inconvenience to pedestrians in the area, as it is getting increasingly difficult to cross the road safely without the non-functional signal lights.

Hence, I request the authorities to kindly switch on the traffic signal lights regularly throughout all days.
