Mysuru:  GSSS Institute of Engineering and Technology for Women (GSSIETW), Mysuru had organized a talk on ‘Women in Professionalism’ by Sujata Rajpal, Author of the Book titled “The Other End of the Corridor” on Feb.10.

The objective of the talk was to inspire and motivate graduates to build their personal and professional life. Talk started with few questionnaires such as why should we work, how to achieve your aims, how to be happy both in professional and personal life. She also discussed that gender discrimination is in woman’s mind, we need to take ownership of this and we should break this stereotype, open our minds, and break the cycle.

She stressed on ‘CAPS’ where C stood for Contain Control of your lives and take responsibility of yourself , A stood for Assertiveness, (being assertive is our right), P stands for support system (family , friends ). To have a good support system we need to build good relations with our beloved one’s, friends, neighbours and colleagues.

 She gave a review on her debut book “The Other End of the Corridor”, which is purely a fiction about a young girl from Patiala who was very negative about herself where her only dream was to become a radio jokey .She highlighted that inspiration is must in life and one should take ownership of their life & stop blaming others.

The book was selected as one of the six books that broke stereotypes.
