Place couches and chairs such that they face the door, or at least give people sitting on them a clear view of the door

In the  Feng Shui philosophy, Chi is influenced by everything concrete in our lives. Our possessions and where they are located can all affect Chi energy. Even the layout of our homes and offices affects Chi energy. By adding and taking away objects, changing the positioning of furniture, plants, wall art, and more, we can increase our good luck.

Feng Shui says that, anything new enters our life only when we create space for it. Only when we re-energise our living space do we have the benefit of new beginnings along with abundance, prosperity and peace. The premise behind Feng Shui is to ensure that your home and the surrounding exterior environment supports and enhances greater human potential, opportunity, and positive experience.

The process of controlling the movement of energy and regulating it was conceived during the emperor days. When the energy (Chi) moves too quickly, it invites natural disasters like precipitous slopes that threaten avalanches in the winter or raging of rivers that overflow their banks in spring.

The art and science of Feng Shui is all about the technique of energy balancing. It is not magic that will make you spontaneously wealthy and happy. It is a meticulous practice whose techniques take years of practice to perfect.

Feng Shui analysis for a property is unique to that specific space and it is said that all buildings will have specific good and bad sectors. Vastu or Feng Shui analysis is an art of aligning the space, countering the ill-effects of bad sectors and finally enhancing the good sectors of the home or office. The approach to such corrections could be through repairs, renovation, re-decoration or adding or taking off objects. The cures in Feng Shui could be as simple as a bowl of plain water to lighting and colour effects and the type of correction would depend upon the sector of the building and its use too.

The importance of setting your intention when making corrections and enhancements is very important as it is said that Feng Shui without mysticism is like a body without a soul and setting intention adds that mystical element.

Primarily you need to  have a clear intention of what you seek to accomplish when making the change. It’s a good idea to take a few minutes to clear your mind, relax and visualise the results you are seeking prior to implementing Feng Shui changes.

• Do not store things that are not of use, giving it away creates space for new things to come in.

• Avoid orienting your sitting or sleeping where in a corner or sharp edge is symbolically piercing towards the bed or work desk.

• Place couches and chairs such that they face the door, or at least give people sitting on them a clear view of the door.

In Feng Shui it is important to harness positive energy and allow it to flow freely. Ensure that there is no obstacle especially when you enter a room, as it will obstruct the smooth flow of energy through the room.
