Mysore/Mysuru: University of Mysore (UoM) has been ranked 19th among the Universities and 34th in the overall category by the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) of the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India (GoI), for its performance.
According to a press release from UoM Vice-Chancellor (VC) Prof. G. Hemantha Kumar, the rank list was announced on Sept. 9 and the ranking is done annually based on five parameters that includes Teaching, Learning and Resources (TLR), Research and Professional Practice (RP), Graduation Outcome (GO), Outreach and Inclusivity (OI) and Perception.
The assessment is done under 10 different segments such as ‘Overall’, ‘University’, ‘Engineering’ and ‘Management’ categories among others and the UoM had participated in the first two segments.
The VC has further stated that the UoM was in the 27th position in ‘University’ category and 47th in ‘Overall’ category in 2020 and the quantum jump in the performance of the University in this year’s ranking is the best performance of UoM in the NIRF ranking so far.
