Mysore/Mysuru: Marking National Technology Day (May 11), scientists of the CSIR-CFTRI came up with seven technologies developed in 2021-22 at the CFTRI campus here.
The new technologies included gluten-free biscuits, cookie cake, buckwheat noodles and pasta, multi-grain cookies, coffee leaf brew and chikki made of drumsticks, majority of which were developed by Flour Milling, Baking and Confectionery Technology Department.
Speaking as the chief guest on the occasion, former Kuvempu University Vice-Chancellor Prof. K. Chidananda Gowda said that it is important how we use the available technologies in our daily life.
Expressing concern that naturally available resources are fast dwindling, Prof. Chidananda Gowda observed that measures should be taken from now itself for conserving water, food, energy and such other natural resources for our future generations. Stressing on the need for re-cycling and judicious use of natural resources, he maintained that changes should be made in our lifestyles taking into consideration the future of our younger generation.
Licenses were distributed to CFTRI technology user food entrepreneurs on the occasion.
CFTRI’s Technology Transfer and Business Development Department Head Dr. B.V. Satyanarayan Rao and others were present.
